Celebrating Excellence – from the outside in!

This award-winning home was an exciting and challenging project for us right from the beginning! Our clients, an active family of 4, wanted their new home to accommodate their love of entertaining plus reflect their passion for surfing.

The ultra-modern architecture slopes to the back, yielding maximum height while maintaining the slope for this one of the best luxury custom homes Vancouver that we have designed and built. Because this was a corner lot, the design required special treatment to create privacy while allowing for maximum natural light. Gorgeous clerestory windows capture the light, while ensuring privacy for the family.

The home achieves a beautiful combination of wood, concrete and steel structure. This structurally-complex, open-concept home features plenty of generous windows, punctuated by a striking stairway that connects the home, and pulls the light into central core!

The kitchen feels ‘strategically-molded’ into the home’s architecture. Its centralized position easily serves multiple purposes, from everyday family-living to large entertaining! There’s a gorgeous cabinet wall that houses the fridge and pantry, and our clients love the abundance of convenient storage.

Anchoring this space in a most delightful way is the central island which boasts a unique countertop detail, which is three-quarters inch thick, and cut at a 60-degree-angle.

The family room features a segmented wall that opens to reveal a large TV screen, plus there’s a custom piano niche. Generous folding doors off the dining area of this spacious open plan creates an amazing transition between indoor and outdoor space!

Upstairs there’s a cozy den that’s perfect place to enjoy a relaxing coffee and a good book! But the main feature upstairs is the master suite. Located to the back of the home for privacy, the large windows show off an amazing downtown view. Exterior straight grain spruce-wood soffit material has been carried inside, across the 12-foot-high, sloped master-bedroom ceiling. The ensuite is spectacular with a shower wall that appears free-standing, with light flowing through into the space.

This home won an Award of Excellence from the Canadian Home Builders Association Awards this year, taking home ‘Best Custom Home’ for 2018. With competition from other builders in Vancouver across Canada, we couldn’t be prouder to have come out on top!
