Bright spaces for casual family living

Our clients, a family of three, loved this location but their dilapidated, 1930’s house was worn out and needed to be replaced. In its place we constructed this three-level, 2800 sq.ft. custom home. A two-bedroom suite was incorporated into the basement.

The architectural and interior conceptual drawings were done in conjunction with our Interior Design team. The family wanted a modern look with an efficient floorplan.

We utilized a building envelope sealing technology (AEROBARRIER TM) on this home with excellent results. This home uses 15.8% less energy than the same home built to the standard code.

The home features abundance of large windows that allow for plenty of natural light. The kitchen features contemporary flat panel, full-height, cabinets providing lots of storage. The long, linear island easily seats four, has plenty of counterspace and storage. The horizontal rift cut warm-toned oak base contrasts perfectly with the white cabinets. Countertops are marble-veined quartz. Matching quartz backsplash finishes the look. Open display shelves just below the upper cabinets add an interesting accent.

Wide plank natural stained hardwood flooring runs throughout, with attractive tile-selections in the bathrooms.

The front office/den area is a family favourite! The barn doors, when open, enhance the spaciousness of this open concept floorplan and brings additional light into the main floor. Another striking feature is the glass stairwell wall.

The three bedrooms are upstairs, for quietness and privacy. The master bedroom boasts an excellent view of the City, which we were able to take advantage of by adding another window. There was room to add a window seat, which has become her favourite place to read!
